Aloha Ukeamigos!
La reality . ukulele can be very varied but something you should keep in mind is that despite being a small instrument y easy to play, requires a lot of patience and practice. The expectation what can you have from ukulele is that in very Little time you can learn, and yes, you can learn in a short time but to sound good and know it well you need a little more time.
Expectation: In the Ukuleleria when I went to see the Ukuleles, they taught me to play the main chords: C, G, F and A minor, we mastered them, and after watching the tutorial videos they uploaded to Instagram y YouTube, I know how to read tabs and I feel ready to play my first song ... I practice strumming a bit, AND DONE!
Reality: It's no lie, it's really easy to touch the Ukulele, but some chords are more complicated than others, do not be discouraged and practice, you do not know the satisfaction that it gives to start playing more complicated chords, once you can you can play anything ... we know the feeling of overwhelmed happiness when you can do your first capo ... UFFFF !! You even want to dance with emotion haha
Expectation: You are ready to continue playing the chords you learned and nothing can stop you, until for the first time in all the time you have with your Ukulele, It's out of tune! But calm down, you have tuner ready and come, in the Ukuleleria It took less than two minutes to tune it the first time, I can handle that and more.
Reality: Yes it is easy to tune it, but the real problem is the fear of doing it the first time, that happens with everything, although we know how to do it it costs us a bit of work because we are afraid to tighten the strings and that one of them will burst, hit us in the hand and we can never play again (lie, like in 10 minutes the pain goes away haha) those faces of fear when tightening the string, or the frustration that we did not reach the note, we have all had them. Calm down, listen to the tuner, and as long as you don't over tense, everything will be fine for you and your Uke.
Expectation: There is a song that you love, the one that you were listening to since before you had your Ukulele And now that you know the chords and you have tuned your Ukulele, you're willing to play it and sing it until everyone in your house learns it, imagine singing it to your Crush or your friends at the weekend party ... And there you go!
Realidad: Yes, you know the chords, the song, the lyrics you know by heart ... but, although it is not difficult to make some chords, the issue of coordinating to play and sing at the same time is something that will cost you work when beginning, but don't worry, like everything in life, it's just a matter of practicing and everything will come out soon, don't despair.
Well there you have it friends, it is easy to learn, we know that as soon as you face these situations and go through them, you will be a great Ukulelist, just keep practicing and don't give up!
