Why is my ukulele out of tune if it is new?

Did you just buy your ukulele and it already sounds ugly?

Hoooooolaaa, friends of the ukuleleria and other parts of the internet! Here Karen!

In this blog we are going to talk about why some musical instruments (not just the ukulele) sound strange the first days! Easy, here is the answer!

Well, to answer this there are several things that we must know such as the quality of the ukulele, (the brand), the wood, the manufacture of parts and the manufacture ...

If your ukulele is new and when you got home you tuned it but it sounds strange, you should check these parts ...

1 THE QUALITY

The quality of an instrument is given by the type of material it has, the type of strings that come with the ukulele, for example, suppose that your ukulele you bought it is a place where it is not specialized in ukuleles and they have one or another ukulele, These places choose to have very poor quality ukuleles in every way, on the strings, on the pieces, on the wood, etc.

If this is your case then you should know that unfortunately your ukulele sounds bad for the simple fact of being of poor quality, the pieces being of poor quality, these do not help the good sound of the ukulele at all.

2. THE PIECES

If you bought your ukulele and you are constantly tuning it because it does not manage to stay well tuned and has good quality, it has a good sound, it is "recognized brand" or specialized and you do not know why it sounds like that, well, you should know that some parts of the headstock ( where it is tuned) maybe some of these pins cannot be well tightened and therefore cannot bear the tension that the string needs, it also happens that the gear of some of them is swept and therefore is not tightening correctly.

3- SOMETHING NORMAL

The other situation that may be happening is that your ukulele is of a very good quality, has well-made pieces, "is of a good brand" and also that you like the sound but it is out of tune after 2 days ...

Well, in this case you should know that if your ukulele is detuned for 1 week, DO NOT WORRY!

As you hear it, ukuleles and other stringed instruments take a while to adjust to the tension, so they tend to come back (detune)

So if this is your situation, don't worry, this is very normal this the first days of the ukulele, if this continues to happen after a week and a half, you should check that the ukulele is in good condition so that you can know the reason for the why is he out of tune very often!

Well, we will leave the blog until here, but you already know many of the reasons why your ukulele goes out of tune, if you have any other situation let me know in the comments.
