Friends of Ukuleleria! How does the quarantine ?
I have had my boredom moments but as always, my ukulele saves me and I try to learn something new every day.
I know many are very bored too and I really recommend learning something new these days and making the most of your free time, one of the things that I am not going to recommend is
Learn to play a musical instrument!
Trust me when I tell you that the ukulele is the best option, it is very easy to learn, and that is why for those who have already decided to buy their first ukulele and want to use everything that this quarantine brings them
How to learn to play a ukulele in isolation?
Learning to play a ukulele is so easy that it is not even necessary to have to go to a school to learn to play it or something like that, I learned everything on YouTube and the Internet, we as ukuleleria love being able to show you everything about ukuleles, from how it is played to the recommendation of many ukuleles to learn!
So I think the first thing I want to show to learn is a video that we have on our YouTube channel where Andrea Corona (@Ukulelesh) shows us how we have to grab our ukulele!
So, to play our ukulele we first have to know how to grab it, and then starting with "orders" to play correctly, the first order is the "finger order" the fingers with which we form the chords (the left hand if you are right-handed ), the right hand if you are left-handed) the fingers are counted from the index finger to the little finger just like this:
This is super important since when you want to read any chord, there is a series of numbers which indicate the finger number to which each step on that chord corresponds, for example:
This chord is a C (C) and tells us that it is put by putting "Finger 3" on the third fret of the first string, (the string from the bottom of your ukulele)
Remember that the strings are counted from bottom to top and their tuning is LA, MI, DO and SOL.
We already know what it takes to learn to play, how to accommodate our fingers, how to accommodate our ukulele, and now follow how to Strum on your ukulele!
In my opinion there is no specific way to strum , this it is always the comfort of each person For example, I am quite used to playing all the strumming on my ukulele with a single finger, I strum with my index finger or my middle finger with the fingertip part, but I repeat, there is no correct way to strum, it all depends of the comfort of each one, I also know people who rip with 3 fingers, with the whole hand etc. what if I do not recommend a lot is strum with nib since it takes away a certain unique and special sound that the ukulele has
What dice? Did you read this whole blog and don't have a ukulele? Buy yours now before quarantine is over! Enjoy! 🤯
