The purpose of the game is to place the balls closer to the "bowling alley" than the opponent's balls.

The first team to reach 13 points after several laps has won the game.

  1. This game is played one on one, either in 2 teams of two or 3 players.
  • Hand in hand: 1 against 1 with 3 balls each
  • Doubles: 2 against 2 with 3 balls each
  • Triplets: 3 against 3 with 2 balls each

On the ground there should be no more than 12 balls.

  1. This game is practiced with 100% steel balls, a small hardwood ball, called "bowling" or "goal", and the balls are played from a circle of 50 cm in diameter, placed or traced on the ground.

  1. You draw first to know which team starts playing. A player of the selected team chooses the starting point and is placed inside the circle. When playing, the player's feet must not leave the circle before the ball has touched the ground.

  1. This player then throws the "bowling alley" at a distance that must be between 6 and 10 meters. The "bowling alley" should not be less than one meter from any obstacle (wall, tree ...)

  1. Then the player throws his first ball, trying to place it as close as possible to the "bowling alley."

  1. A player from the second team enters the circle and tries to get his own ball closer to the “bowling alley” than the ball of his opponent or tries to push the ball away from the opponent by hitting it. The ball that is closest to the bowling alley is winning.

  1. If he succeeds, it is now his turn to play a player of the first team. If he does not succeed, the players of his own team play their balls until they win or until they no longer have balls to play.

  1. When one of the teams no longer has balls in their hands to play, the players of the other team play the remaining ones, trying to place them as close as possible.

  1. When the two teams no longer have balls, the points are counted. A team scores as many points as balls have closer to the "bowling" than the opponent. It is the end of this "return."

  1. One of the players of the winning team then throws the "bowling alley" from the point it is in and the game continues until one of the teams has reached 13 points.

• Shovels in order to remove the earth
• thick gravel
• A cloth (which drains water) of the geotextile felt type.
• A roller to compress
• Beams to delimit the contours

Preliminary stages
1 Choose the site of the land
2 Choose your dimensions (A minimum of 4 to 5 meters wide and 12 to 15 meters in length is convenient in order to play without tightness)

Proposition No. 1

  • Remove a layer of approximately 20 to 25 cm from the ground area.
    • Cover with a thick gauge gravel, a layer about 5 centimeters thick. Level and compress strongly.
    • Cover with a cloth to prevent the proliferation of weeds that would make the terrain impracticable. Preferably, put a cloth that allows water to drain. If this is not the case, make sure that water can flow otherwise.
    • Add 15 centimeters of gravel and compress.
    • Install beams around the ground so that the balls cannot escape.
    • Deposit a layer of sand (until the gravel is visible)
    • Moisten the sand.
    • Compress one last time
    The terrain is ready!

Proposition No. 2

Required dimension: 10 to 15 x 4 to 5 minimum meters in a sunny place, but not too much and on flat ground.
1: The earth fits about 20 cm deep and remove it.

2: Put a geotextile felt that will prevent the growth of herbs (they sell it in DIY stores).

3: Delimit the playing surface protected by felt.

4: Put inside the hole (gravel 0 / 20: 1t700 / m3; about 18.7 euros a ton). A height of 10 cm is sufficient. Level it roughly. If you are afraid that your frame does not resist leveling pressure, you can compress it with your foot, or use a portable vibrating compactor, (Frog type VC-5000 model, the rent is about 50 euros / day.)

5: Coat this layer of gravel (0 / 4 gravel: 1t600 / m3; about 4º, 5 euros per ton). With a layer of 3cm is enough. Level the layer with a rake and a ruler, or a large board. Compress it again as in the previous stage.

6: Pass a rake to erase the traces of the compactor and highlight some gravels. To get the gravel contact a quarry or warehouse of construction material near your home. It must be said that the supply and transportation can cost us from 150 to 200 euros.
ATTENTION in your forecasts, because on the one hand it will be for the budget, but also for your small muscular arms, because you have to move between 6 and 7 tons, and everything in wheelbarrow; Your arms and back will remember. (It is possible that he abhors petanque between the paths and the shovels) Just kidding. It took 2 and a half days to do everything, but without relaxing. And I am very happy to be done, but there is still a bit to train, it needs to dry.
