Ukulele for people with autism, music therapy?

Aloha friends of ukuleleria! Today we are going to tell you a little about how the ukulele as it music therapy for people who have autism. A couple days ago the team of ukuleleria talked about how beautiful it is when an instrument can help many situations in life and even psychological disorders. 

One of the ones that most caught our attention is the autism.

 

La music therapy has been used in recent years as a therapeutic tool that has allowed establishing a new form of interrelation between the patient and the therapist, especially in cases of children with autism spectrum disorder.

This fact has been possible thanks to the people with autism they show a preference, a predisposition and a greater response capacity to different sound stimuli, when they are musical.

For example, it has been shown that children with Autism Spectrum Disorder show musical behaviors such as:

• Repetition of fragments of songs heard.
• Spontaneous rhythm reproduction.
• Attraction to certain sounds, bells or sound sources.
• Performing spontaneous movements before a certain type of music.

• Stimulate the child's rhythmic dialogue with his environment.
• Promote self-determination and creativity behaviors.
